OUR PURPOSE

The objectives of Mended Hearts are to offer help, support, and encouragement to heart disease patients and their families. Members achieve these objectives by:

> Visiting, with physician approval, and offering encouragement and support to heart disease patients and their families or caregivers through local visiting programs. Accredited visitors provide these services through visits in hospitals, homes, by telephone, and through the Internet. Those interested in becoming a Mended Hearts visitor may contact Ron Vlcek (847 952-9670), or Tina Zagroba (847 277-9272).
> Through ongoing monthly meetings which provide timely information related to treatment and maintenance for members with heart disease and their families.
 > Distributing information of specific educational value to members of Mended Hearts, Inc. and to heart disease patients, their families and caregivers.
 > Establishing and maintaining a program of assistance to physicians, nurses, medical professionals and healthcare organizations in their work with heart disease patients, their families and caregivers.
 > Cooperating with other organizations in education and research activities pertaining to heart disease.
 > Establishing and assisting heart disease rehabilitation programs for members and their families/caregivers.
 > Planning and conducting suitable programs of social and educational interest for members, heart disease patients and their families, and caregivers.
